One of the first questions most of my clients ask is: How much will this cost? And that answer is different for every customer and project.

Maximizing the value you receive for your investment is my first priority. Whether we agree on value- or project-based billing, or I bill by the hour, I will work with you to find a solution that is within your budget.

Hourly rates

Here’s a sample of typical hourly rate ranges*:

    • Copywriting: $100 to $150
    • Copy editing: $75 to $125
    • Proofreading: $50 to $75
    • Developmental editing: $100 to $150
    • Content strategy engagements: $150 to $200
    • Healthcare content innovation & transformation initiatives: $150 to $225

* I provide pro-bono or reduced-rate work for some charitable and direct-giving organizations. See more in the giving back section.

Value- and project-based rates

My per-project rates vary greatly depending on the time investment required, but clients normally pay a lower per-hour rate when we set up a project cost.

Giving Back

I firmly believe in giving back to the community, so I will donate 10% of my profits to a charitable organization for any client who requests it. If you decide to partner with me for your next project, please look through my list of preferred organizations and choose which you would like me to donate 10% of profits of your payments to.

I also take on pro-bono or reduced-rate projects for people who cannot afford my services or for not-for-profit organizations whose mission and goals align with my own. Please contact me if you would like me to consider taking on this type of work for you.

Quality & Satisfaction Guarantee

Whichever option you choose, you can rest assured knowing that I stand by my work, and I won’t walk away until you have a finished product you satisfied with. If I deliver a project to you, and you aren’t happy with it, I will work with you until you are. And though I pride myself in producing error-free work, I still do make mistakes on occasion. If that happens, I will correct any mistakes at no additional cost to you.

Payment Options

You can pay me an hourly, per-page, or per-project rate, or you may want to consider hiring me as a W2 contractor, which would mean putting me on your payroll for the length of the project.

Most projects don’t require payment until the project has been completed; however, if I am working on a long-term project with interim deliverables, I may ask you to pay in installments as you receive the work. No matter how we decide to handle payments, I will provide a contract to you so you’ll know in advance what the expectations are for both of us.
